Shure 707A microphone from 1961 with original working crystal element.
Among crystal microphones, the Shure 707A undoubtedly represents the most coveted and appreciated by harmonica players, but it is almost impossible to find one that is still working as the crystal elements tend to deteriorate and stop working if they are not well preserved (avoiding humidity and temperature changes). This specimen therefore represents a rarity.
Having owned a couple of other working examples in the past, I can say that this one has retained about 70% of its original volume and tone.
The microphone is equipped with its original cable, approximately 2.10m long, and the table stand.
To better understand its current conditions, below is a demonstration video performed by harmonica player Simone Moroni.
